Quality Policy
MLTI Private Limited manufactures stainless steel, duplex steel and nickel alloy pipes and tubes on modern production equipment, under an approved quality manual, with an independent testing department that clears material at every stage from incoming raw material to despatch.
Quality Control Policy
Production is run against an approved Quality Assurance Plan. Inspection begins at the purchase order, covers incoming raw material, and continues through stage-wise checks during manufacture up to final inspection before despatch. The following functions and facilities support this control:
- Product inspection department
- Technology inspection team
- Material analysis laboratory
- Direct reading optical emission spectrometer
- Ultrasonic testing facility
- Hydrostatic testing facility
Experienced inspectors and technicians monitor each process from raw material to finished product under a defined programme covering documentation and standardisation by the quality assurance department.
Routine Tests
- 01 Chemical analysis against the composition limits of the ordered grade
- 02 Intergranular corrosion testing to the ASTM A262 practices, where the order requires it
- 03 Mechanical testing: tensile, hardness, flattening, flare and flange
- 04 Reverse bend and reverse flattening tests to the ASTM A450 and ASTM A530 general requirements
- 05 Hydrostatic testing on 100% of production, to ASTM A450 for tube and ASTM A999 for pipe
- 06 Air under pressure testing to detect leakage
- 07 Visual inspection of every length after passivation, for surface flaws and other imperfections
Supplementary Tests
Eddy current, radiography, PMI, ultrasonic, liquid penetrant, micro and macro examination are carried out where the specification or the purchase order calls for them.
