MLTI Private Limited (Moonlight Tube Industries) manufactures, supplies and exports Hastelloy tubes across India and to export markets from Gujarat, where production operations have been established since 2008.

Hastelloy refers to a family of nickel-based alloys developed for demanding corrosion-resistant applications, while Hastelloy C276 is the grade supplied in our tube range. Seamless tubes are supplied to ASTM B622 / ASME SB-622, while welded tubes are supplied to ASTM B626 / ASME SB-626. C276 is identified as UNS N10276 and W.Nr. 2.4819, with nickel as the balance and controlled additions of molybdenum, chromium and tungsten. Its nominal chemistry includes 15.0–17.0% molybdenum, 14.5–16.5% chromium and 3.0–4.5% tungsten, with carbon limited to 0.010% maximum. Solution-annealed tube has a minimum tensile strength of 690 MPa, yield strength of 283 MPa and elongation of 40%.
Round tubes represent the principal Hastelloy tube form and are supplied up to 88.9 mm (3½″) outside diameter. Square and rectangular sections can be supplied against drawings. Hastelloy tubes are used in heat exchangers, condensers, chemical processing equipment, chlorine systems and mixed-acid transfer lines.
Seamless C276 tube has no weld zone, which is a consideration in wet chlorine and mixed-acid duty. Welded tube is solution annealed after welding to restore the corrosion resistance of the seam. Grade verification is supported by positive material identification, and applicable orders are supplied with an EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificate. Furthermore, our company is certified to ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certifications. Selected sizes are available from stock, while other requirements are arranged against confirmed orders.

Hastelloy Tube Grades
The Hastelloy family includes several nickel-based alloy grades. The MLTI tube range covers Hastelloy C276 only. The grades differ in nickel, molybdenum, chromium, tungsten and other alloying additions, which determine corrosion resistance and service capability.
Hastelloy Tube Forms and Types
Hastelloy tubes are supplied in different manufacturing routes and section profiles depending on application, dimensional requirements and installation conditions. Seamless, welded (ERW), round, square and rectangular forms are available against applicable specifications or drawings.

Hastelloy Seamless Tubes
Hastelloy seamless tubes are produced without a longitudinal welded joint and are supplied to ASTM B622 / ASME SB-622. They are commonly specified where seamless construction is preferred for demanding corrosion-resistant service.

Hastelloy Welded (ERW) Tube
Hastelloy welded tubes are formed from a continuous alloy strip, with the longitudinal seam fused by high-frequency electric resistance heat without filler metal. The process maintains tight wall tolerances under ASTM B626 specifications for severe corrosive service.

Hastelloy Round Tubes
Round tubes represent the principal Hastelloy tube form and are supplied up to 88.9 mm (3½″) outside diameter. They are used for heat exchangers, condensers, process lines and instrumentation systems.

Hastelloy Square Tube
Hastelloy square tubes are produced to specified outside face dimensions and wall thicknesses. They are used for equipment frames, supports, guards and fabricated structures in corrosive processing environments.

Hastelloy Rectangular Tube
Hastelloy rectangular tubes provide unequal outside dimensions for applications requiring a specific section geometry. Face dimensions, wall thickness, length and finish are confirmed against the fabrication drawing or purchase requirement.
Hastelloy Tube Size
Hastelloy tubing dimensions and weights depend heavily on manufacturing specifications and wall thickness standards. The table below sets out the outside-diameter and wall-thickness ranges and the supply condition for seamless (ASTM B622 / ASME SB-622) and welded (ASTM B626 / ASME SB-626) Hastelloy tube.
| Seamless Tube | Welded Tube | |
|---|---|---|
| Outside diameter | Up to 88.9 mm (3½″) | 3.2 mm – 88.9 mm (1/8″ – 3½″) |
| Wall thickness | Per ASTM B829 | 0.41 mm – 3.7 mm (0.015″ – 0.148″) |
| Supply condition | Solution annealed and descaled | Solution annealed and descaled |
Hastelloy Tube Pressure Rating
Hastelloy tube operating pressures (PSI) at room temperature are listed in the table below by outer diameter (OD) and wall thickness. These figures are a starting point, but final designs must account for your operational temperature derating factors, material permissible stress, and welded tubing joint factors. Before installation, check the pressure rating against your system dimensions and design temperature for safety.

Hastelloy Tube Industrial Application
Hastelloy tubing is selected mainly for equipment exposed to aggressive acids, chlorides, wet chlorine and mixed corrosive streams where conventional stainless steel may not provide sufficient corrosion resistance.

Chemical Processing
Chemical plants use C276 tubes in reactor coils, acid coolers, condensers, and chemical dosing systems. Its resistance to reducing and oxidising media makes it suitable for demanding mixed-acid environments.

Power Generation
Flue-gas desulphurisation systems can expose components to acidic condensates containing chlorides. C276 tubing is used in selected absorber, quench and heat-transfer applications where corrosion resistance is a major design requirement.

Pulp and Paper
Bleaching operations use chlorine-containing chemicals and other aggressive process media. C276 tubes can be specified for selected heater, washer and chemical-processing equipment where corrosion resistance controls material selection.

Pharmaceutical and Fine Chemicals
Pharmaceutical and fine-chemical processes can involve mineral acids, halide-containing chemicals and high-value products. C276 tubing is used in selected transfer, reactor and condenser applications where corrosion products must be minimised.

Oil and Gas
Oil and gas equipment may encounter combinations of hydrogen sulphide, chlorides and water. UNS N10276 is considered for selected chemical injection, instrumentation and process applications where corrosion conditions exceed conventional stainless-steel capability.

Hastelloy Tubes FAQs
Hastelloy tubing is a high-performance nickel-alloy tubular product engineered for extreme corrosive environments. Supply centres on Hastelloy C276 (UNS N10276), a nickel-balance alloy with controlled additions of molybdenum, chromium and tungsten for resistance to aggressive acids and chlorides.
ASTM B622 / ASME SB-622 governs seamless nickel and nickel-alloy tubes, while ASTM B626 / ASME SB-626 covers welded tubes. General testing and dimensional requirements conform to ASTM B829 (seamless) and ASTM B751 (welded).
Hastelloy tubes are used in shell-and-tube heat exchangers, condensers, chemical reactors, flue gas desulphurisation (FGD) scrubbers, pharmaceutical equipment, and sour-gas oilfield applications handling hot mineral acids, wet chlorine, and organic chlorides.
Round Hastelloy tubing is available from 3.2 mm to 88.9 mm outside diameter (1/8" to 3 1/2" NB), with wall thicknesses from 0.41 mm to 3.7 mm (0.015″ to 0.148″). Square and rectangular sections are supplied against drawings.
Yes, in aggressive corrosive environments. Hastelloy C276 provides far superior resistance to localised pitting, crevice corrosion, stress corrosion cracking, and reducing acids compared to standard austenitic stainless steels, though stainless steel is more cost-effective for general utility duties.
Seamless Hastelloy tubes (ASTM B622) are manufactured without a weld seam, which removes the fusion line as a corrosion site in wet chlorine and mixed-acid duty. Welded tubes (ASTM B626) are formed from strip and longitudinally welded without filler metal, then solution annealed.
