316 Seamless Tube
316 seamless stainless steel tube carries no weld seam, so there's no heat-affected zone to act as a corrosion initiation site. We produce it to ASTM A213 / ASME SA-213 for boiler and heat exchanger duty.

MLTI Private Limited (Moonlight Tube Industries) is a 316 stainless steel tube manufacturer, supplier and exporter based in Gujarat, India. For over a decade, our facility has produced drawn, rolled, and welded austenitic stainless tubing, reaching an annual capacity of approximately 8,000 MT.

Stainless steel 316 tube is a molybdenum-bearing austenitic tube produced to ASTM A213 / ASME SA-213 TP316 in seamless form and ASTM A249 / ASME SA-249 TP316 in welded form, with general-service material to ASTM A269. The grade carries 2.00-3.00% molybdenum alongside 16.0-18.0% chromium and 10.0-14.0% nickel. Minimum tensile strength in the annealed condition is 515 MPa (75 ksi), minimum yield is 205 MPa (30 ksi), with 35% minimum elongation. The material also answers to UNS S31600 and 1.4401 in Europe, and to SUS 316 in Japan. 316 SS seamless tubing carries no longitudinal weld, so ASME B31.3 assigns it a weld joint quality factor of 1.0 against 0.85 for SS 316 welded tubes. At the same design pressure, that puts roughly 18% more wall on the welded tube; the factor rises to 1.0 with 100% radiography. Alloy 316 welded tube costs less and has tighter wall uniformity.
We roll 316 stainless round tube from 12.7 mm to 101.6 mm outside diameter in lengths up to 24 metres, and welded square and rectangular box sections in lengths up to 12 metres. Heat exchangers, refinery circuits, marine deck hardware, pharmaceutical and dairy process runs: 316 tube serves all of them. Our plant holds ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 certification with IBR, EIL and PED 2014/68/EU approvals, and every consignment ships with a mill test certificate.
We supply ASTM A213 seamless and ASTM A249 welded 316 stainless steel tubes in round, square, and rectangular profiles.

SS 316 tubing comes in seamless and welded construction, ERW included, and in round, square and rectangular sections.

316 seamless stainless steel tube carries no weld seam, so there's no heat-affected zone to act as a corrosion initiation site. We produce it to ASTM A213 / ASME SA-213 for boiler and heat exchanger duty.

Welded 316 tubing is formed from a slit strip and seam-welded without filler metal. ASTM A249 requires cold working the weld before solution annealing at a minimum of 1040 °C and quenching. ERW tube follows the same route, using high-frequency resistance welding instead of a fusion arc, and costs less per metre.

Round section is our highest-volume 316 stainless steel round tube form, rolled from 12.7 mm to 101.6 mm OD in six gauges. Heat exchanger, instrumentation and hydraulic service all use it.

Our 316 stainless steel square tube is a welded box section, 12 x 12 mm to 100 x 100 mm. 316 stainless steel square tube sizes in that band go into balustrades and railings.

Rectangular section covers 13 x 25 mm to 100 x 50 mm, wall 1.0 mm to 6.0 mm. Fabricators specify 316 stainless steel rectangular tube where a member carries a load about one axis.

Round 316 tube leaves our plant in lengths to a maximum of 24 metres, box sections at 12 metres. Shorter drops of 6 m and 3 m are cut to the ordered length.
Finish is set at the order stage. A213 and A249 require stainless tube 316 to leave the mill free of scale, so annealed and pickled is our standard finish; bright annealed tube goes out where pickling is not wanted. Passivated and polished 316 stainless steel tube is made to order.
316 steel tubes serve six industry groups, covered below, each sourcing this for its unique properties.

Chemical plants run 316 tube on dilute sulphuric and on phosphoric acid duty within defined concentration and temperature limits: reactor coils, dosing lines, scrubbers. Nordic buyers order it as an acid-proof SS tube.

Marine-grade stainless is what the market calls this chemistry, and class A4 of ISO 3506 is built on the same molybdenum-bearing base. We supply 316 tube for deck rails, splash-zone hardware and topside service.

Instrumentation tubing carries hydraulic fluid and injection chemicals at pressures worked out from wall thickness, diameter and the allowable stress of the grade at design temperature. SS 316 instrumentation tube to ASTM A269 suits impulse lines and umbilicals.

Shell-and-tube exchangers and surface condensers take 316 tube on the tube side, to ASTM A213 or A249.

Dairy, brewing and pharmaceutical plants use 316 tube on product-contact runs because the surface tolerates clean-in-place cycles with caustic and acid detergents. Chlorinated sanitiser residue is where standard grades pit easily, while 316 holds.

316 tubing suits condensers and feedwater heaters (ASTM A688) under controlled water chemistry. Austenitic grades require case-by-case review due to stress corrosion cracking risks in hot, stressed, chloride-bearing water. The same review applies in pulp and paper service, where chloride and caustic exposure at temperature can drive stress corrosion cracking in austenitic grades.
As leading 316 stainless tube suppliers, our shipping and packaging guidelines ensure secure transport, custom specifications, and full quality compliance for every order.
316 stainless steel tube price is quoted around ₹300–₹550/kg in India (approximately US$3.13–$5.75/kg) and tracks nickel and molybdenum input costs, so we quote the day's rate rather than publish a list that goes stale within a week. Seven variables move the final figure: outside diameter, wall thickness, length, order quantity, finish, form and specification. Export orders are priced FOB or CFR.
Buyers return to Moonlight Tubes for certified material, approved grades and stock that ships on schedule. Every order is backed by documented quality, a wide size range and delivery commitments we hold to.
316 stainless steel tube contains 2.00–3.00% molybdenum; 304 contains none. That molybdenum gives alloy 316 tubes higher resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in chlorides.
Specify 316L for welded assemblies in corrosive service: its 0.035% carbon ceiling suppresses weld-zone sensitisation. Choose 316 for the higher 205 MPa yield.
Yes, and molybdenum is the reason. It isn't immune, though: under tensile stress in hot chloride solution, alloy 316 tube can fail by stress corrosion cracking.
SS 316 tubing costs around ₹300–₹550/kg in India (approximately US$3.13–$5.75/kg). Cost varies based on the current nickel and molybdenum rates. Diameter, wall, length, quantity, finish and construction all move it.
Yes. We make square box sections from 12 x 12 mm to 100 x 100 mm and rectangular 13 x 25 mm to 100 x 50 mm, to ASTM A554.
